Understanding Exposure 3rd Edition How to Shoot Great Photographs with Any Camera Review

Tuesday 19 March 2013

A must have for anyone interested in photography! After reading this book, I was finally about to shoot in Manual mode with confidence.
All of Bryan Petersons photography books are fabulous. The pictures are great of course, but they are also readable and informative, which cannot be said for all art books.
Very good for the beginning photographer (from my beginning photographer's viewpoint). It helped me understand how to get the most of my DSLR camera because I knew what the heck to do with all the features.
What a great book. It really helped me understand how to better expose an image I take with my camera. The author teaches things in a straight forward way, making it easier to go and do it yourself. He provides lots of picture examples of the techniques and gives specific camera settings for each, so you can better understand what type of results your camera settings will give you.
I'm on a kick to improve my photos. This book is a fast read, topics are concise and very clear with excellent photographic examples of what he is trying to say. He advocates using "manual" mode on your camera - something I abandoned about 20 years ago but have resurrected it thanks to the book - and will have better photographs because of it. Thanks Bryan! If you want to improve your photography and own a "prosumer" or DSLR camera then this is an excellent addition to your library.
My exposure skills were immediately better after reading each chapter of this book. Each chapter has plenty of example photos of bad and good exposures with detailed captions. Highly recommended to anyone that isn't comfortable with manual mode on your camera. Hint: You will be after reading the first few chapters of this.

Hi Evan ...the link you provide for the FREE .pdf book by Bryan Peterson does not take you to book. It instead takes you to your Trick Photography and Special Effects site. That site is good too, but I wanted to download the FREE e-book as it was just recommended to me. However, being on a budget I'm unable to purchase the book. If I click directly on the book it then takes me to Amazon to purchase the book. Are you able to give a link to the FREE e-book. If so, please post for others to see, but if you could send that link to me in an email, I'd greatly appreciate it.

BTW ...enjoyed your tutorial video & PICS. I saved your page for future, as I'm interested in your course, I just don't have the funds right now. I found your site when I did a search on the book just mentioned.

    Have a blessed day!

Hi Deb. Sadly this is a very clever manipulation of a popular book by this person to get exposure for his own stuff. Nothing comes free in this world I'm afraid.
But when you can afford it, get the book. It's excellent. You can find a much reduced version on Amazon. I did. Deb in Colorado
